Stitching with beads + sequins
1. Cut out all your shapes, including "ugly" accents. To make the wreath sweater, you need (1) sweater with stitch marks, (1) sweater without stitch marks, (1) wreath, (2) cuffs, (1) bow, (1) hem and (1) collar.
2. Place the embellishments on the sweater and stitch them in place using four strands of embroidery floss. Use a touch of tacky glue to hold the small pieces in place prior to stitching, if necessary. Be creative with your stitching. We stitched zigzags and crosses - but it would be fun to use straight stitches to emulate cuffs of a shirt too!
3. Add glitter felt, beads and sequins to make it even more ugly! To finish, lightly glue the back of the sweater on to hide the stitching.
An alternative way to finish the sweater is to blanket stitch or whip stitch the outside edges. This ornament was stitched closed and stuffed with a small amount of Polyfil.
4. Make a hanger for the sweater using a paperclip. Follow this tutorial to see how!
