Garlands are a staple of holiday decorating. We love using Benzie's large assortment of poms and felted shapes to put a garland together quickly, but it's extra special to add something handmade! In this tutorial, Maker Team member Kristina of @miababymobile designed classic handstitched bunnies for her Easter Garland. The sweet felt bunnies add a little bit of time but a LOT of charm to this seasonal craft!
Bring a perfect touch of springtime magic to your home, nursery or Easter party with this felt bunnies and carrots garland tutorial. Let's hop to it!
Skill Level: Beginner
Time: 1 hour
Additional Supplies:
Bunny Pattern (click to download)
Crochet Thread, 1.5 mm
Directions:
1. Download and print Bunny Pattern above. Cut out all pattern pieces and trace onto corresponding felt sheets using Frixion pen. Cut out felt pieces and use heat (such as iron or hair dryer) to remove markings.

2. Sew one French knot on each side of head for eyes.

3. Place two corresponding Body pieces together and blanket stitch along perimeter, leaving a small opening for stuffing.

4. Stuff Body with Polyfil and finish sewing closed.

5. Take a small amount of White roving and roll into a ball in your palm. Place ball on needle felting cushion and start gently poking it with a needle felting tool. Continue poking the wool ball evenly, rotating it to maintain a round shape, until desired consistency is achieved. Keep your eye on the needle. It's sharp!

6. Glue felt Ears and felted ball (Tail) to Body.

7. Cut a piece of thread or twine to desired length and thread through darning needle. Carefully insert needle through the top of each rabbit and carrot. Make sure to keep an even spacing between them.

Your Easter Garland is now ready to be hung... ANYWHERE for a charming decorative touch! Hoppy crafting!
