Skill Level: Beginner
Time: Less than five minutes per piece of pasta
Additional Supplies:
Felt Pasta Templates (click to download)
Freezer Paper - optional
Depending on how many yellow pieces of pasta you want to make, you may want to order additional 12x18” sheets of Custard felt.
Directions:
1. Print Felt Pasta Templates above onto freezer paper. Click here to learn how to transfer templates to felt using freezer paper. If you do not have freezer paper, print templates onto regular paper. Cut out and use a disappearing ink pen to trace templates, then cut felt.
Fettuccine
2. To make fettuccine, cut 12” x 1/4” pieces of felt. This can be done with an acrylic ruler and rotary cutter or by hand.

Cut pieces until you have a pile that looks like a serving of fettuccine.

Farfalle
3. Fold one farfalle piece in half along long edge. Pass a threaded needle through center of the fold to hide the knot.

4. Fold both long edges in opposite direction to create a bow tie shape.

5. Wrap thread around folded center one and a half times so thread is back where the first stitch was made.

6. Pass needle under wrapped thread and tie a knot.

7. Bury thread by passing needle through center of the felt. To do this, be sure that you cannot see the needle on either side of the felt, as shown below.

8. Pull thread through the layer of felt and snip close to felt.

9. Using pinking shears, trim short edges of farfalle.

Continue making farfalle until you have a full serving!

Tortellini
10. Fold tortellini circle in half. Begin by passing needle through the bottom of one side as shown below.

11. Sew along curved edge using a straight stitch.

12. Stop stitching with about 1 1/2" left, but do not knot the thread. Stuff tortellini using a stuffing tool.

13. For best results, do not let stuffing fill entire tortellini piece. Using clips to keep the top of the curve empty can help.

14. After tortellini is stuffed, finish straight stitching until you reach end of the curve, but do not knot thread. Fold stitched edge over gently as shown below.

15. With stitched edge still folded over, pinch two ends of tortellini together. Connect these ends by sewing through both ends a few times. Then, knot off thread.

16. To bury thread, pass needle through stuffed section of the tortellini and clip thread.

Continue making tortellini until you have a full serving!

Ravioli
17. Begin by tracing Ravioli Stitching Template onto one ravioli square using a disappearing ink pen.

18. Clip two ravioli squares together. Bring needle through one piece of felt to hide the knot. Straight stitch around three sides of ravioli.

19. Using a stuffing tool, add a small amount of stuffing to ravioli.

20. Continue straight stitching last side of ravioli and knot off thread. To bury the thread, pass needle through stuffing and clip thread.

21. Use pinking shears to trim all four sides of ravioli, ensuring both squares of felt are being trimmed.

Continue making ravioli until you have a full serving!

Pasta Sauce
22. Stitch the two sauce pieces together using a blanket stitch.

Make as many sauce pieces as you’d like! Try red for marinara, white for alfredo, and green for pesto.

Breadsticks
23. Use three pieces of DMC embroidery floss in green to stitch random straight stitches on Breadstick Accent piece.

24. Using a whip stitch, attach Breadstick Accent piece to one Breadstick Base.

25. Stitch two Breadstick Base pieces together using a blanket stitch.

26. Stuff breadstick through one short edge.
27. Finish the blanket stitch and make extras!

Your full pasta dinner is complete! Now mix and match all the parts and have fun!
