Scissor Bunting

Share

To celebrate the new limited edition Cut + Paste felt palette, here’s a simple tutorial
that only requires cutting and pasting! This bright and festive scissor bunting from Camille at (not so) Modern Millie is perfect for craft rooms, classrooms, or party décor.

Skill Level: Kid friendly, Beginner

Time: 2 hours

Supply List:
Cut + Paste Felt Palette - 9" x 12"
Silver Wool Blend Felt – ½ yard
Scissors
Red Bakers Twine
Tacky Glue
PDF Pattern (click to download)
Chalk Rolleroptional

1. Print the Scissor Bunting template PDF pattern above on card stock and cut out individual pieces.

2. Trace Scissor Body and Screw pattern pieces onto the silver felt 10 times and cut. If you do not have a chalk roller for tracing, a pencil or pen will work well.

3. Trace Handle 1 & 2 pattern pieces onto the Cut + Paste felt sheets. You need one
of each piece on each color of felt. Cut.

4. Make a loop (for hanging) at the end of your bakers twine. Starting 10 inches
from the loop, begin gluing the scissors, screws and colored handles onto the twine. The twine should be sandwiched between the scissor body and handles. Continue until all of the scissors have been attached. After the last scissor, measure an additional 10 inches of twine and tie another loop.

5. Hang and enjoy!

This tutorial leaves plenty of room for creativity! The felt colors can be substituted
to match a room or theme. You can also try printing the PDF at a smaller size and
make individual scissors into gift tags, ornaments, or a clever brooch!
