Gingerbread Felt Colors

Recreate your favorite holiday treats in felt! Using our new Nutmeg Tones + Tints felt palette, you can craft your felt dessert recipes in an assortment of yummy, warm gingerbread colors. To get you inspired, we've rounded up some of our festive cookie DIYs - including MmmCrafts Gingerbread House!

Shop Supplies

The color you select will depend on what sort of baked cookie or cake you are creating, but we picked ten of our best gingerbread colors in both wool blend and Bellwether pure wool felt. Our favorites felts for "baking" are Shortbread, Toast, Nutmeg, Tawny, Latte, Cocoa, Hazelnut, Umber, Cinnamon and Seaside. Tawny, Cocoa, Hazelnut and Umber are 100% wool felt and perfect for treats.

Classic gingerbread cookies look stellar with Nutmeg felt. To add the look of frosting, use a combination of White wool felt and embroidery with white thread. We can almost smell these cookies coming out of the oven! Find our Gingerbread Cookie tutorial here.

For variations on holiday cookies, or "biscuits" as we say when watching The Great British Bake Off, try Toast felt. Wouldn't it be darling to fill up a decorative tin with these little treats? Scrummy! Find our Picnic Set tutorial here.

For these gingerbread houses, we combined Nutmeg, Toast and Cinnamon felt. Aren't they cute? If you're feeling ambitious, try coating these in glass glitter for a retro touch. (But don't actually touch.) This pattern is from MmmCrafts Twas the Night Collection called All Through the House. You can find it here.

We also love how our glitter felt looks on MmmCrafts gingerbread houses! There are a lot of different ways to decorate the roofs - alternating gingerbread colors, glitter or pan pastels. For a multicolor look, we recommend glitter felt in Butter, Coral, Pink, Guava and Honeydew.

We'll leave you with one more *tiny* treat. These miniature gingerbread houses in Cinnamon felt are almost too cute to handle, but we think you're up to the challenge. Make a whole village of gingerbread ornaments to get into the holiday spirit! Find our Miniature Gingerbread House tutorial here.

Happy Crafting!
