Maker Team Member Kristina of @miababymobile has created a trio of forest friends that would look right at home hanging on a tree! Or can you imagine these little faces sticking out of a stocking? What are you waiting for?!

Directions:

1. Download and print PDF pattern above. Cut out all pattern pieces. Trace onto corresponding felt sheets using Frixion pen. Cut out felt pieces and use heat (such as an iron or hair dryer) to remove markings.

Forest Animals

2. Sew running stitches on white spots of Ears, Tum and Muzzle. For Fox, also sew running stitches on white spots of Tail. Use one strand of coordinating thread for all stitching unless otherwise directed.

3. Glue on Nose. Add french knots for eyes. As an alternative to french knots, you can paint the eyes.

4. Add simple decorative stitches in contrasting thread to top of Bear Head. Sew Red beads to Deer Head.

5. Place two corresponding Head pieces together and sew along perimeter with a blanket stitch, leaving a small opening for stuffing.

6. Stuff Head with Polyfil and finish sewing closed.

7. Repeat Steps 5-6 for Body, Paws and Tail (for Fox.)

8. Glue Heads, Paws and Tail (Fox) to Bodies.

9. Use felt scraps to add a scarf.

Tree

10. Place two Tree pieces together and, starting on one end of base, sew along perimeter with a blanket stitch, leaving a small opening at base for stuffing.

11. Stuff Tree with Polyfil.

12. Add Trunk to Tree base and finish sewing closed.

13. Glue glitter Star to top of Tree.

After ornaments are sewn, attach bakers twine or other string for hanging. Now your forest scene is ready to decorate the tree!
