The Garden Tulip, a spring-blooming flower, is best recognized for it's large, symmetrical, bright and showy blooms, usually in warm colours. Thought to be first culivated in Persia in the 10th century, tulip bulbs were brought to central Europe in the late 1500s, at which point "tulip mania" took over. By the 17th century, it is said that full properties were being traded for a single tulip bulb! Talk about pressure to keep that flower alive! The good news is, with your felt tulips, you'll never have to stress about their upkeep, or trade your farm for a bulb.

About the Designer
Hello! I'm Gina, the founder and owner of Bear & Barbaloot. By day I'm a pediatric nurse at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. I am also a wife to the best husband in the world, and the two cutest, most rambunctious little boys around (although I might be a teeny bit biased). In the rest of my "spare time" I lovingly work at making felt florals. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I adore making it!
